strauss architekten planned the construction of the seawater aquarium „the seven seas aquarium“ (shark city), which includes a spacious foyer and two gastronomic establishments. the project combines a versatile concept of a museum, aquarium, research institute, diving center, restaurants, and a merchandising shop. the public and technical areas are spread across three levels—from the basement to the top floor. all publicly accessible spaces must comply with current regulations for assembly buildings. the site covers approximately 21,000 m², with around 5,617 m² to be developed. the total building volume is approximately 68,384 m³. the building will be constructed in solid, monolithic design using in-situ concrete to meet the technical and structural requirements. the building envelope will meet the current energy-saving regulations for non-residential buildings.
